Azelia Ley Homestead Museum & Historical Society

Azelia Ley Homestead Museum

The Azelia Ley Homestead Museum and its associated outbuildings are located in Manning Park, Hamilton Hill. The heritage listed residence was built in 1923 for a member of the Manning family and offers a glimpse into the life of a prosperous settler family living in the Cockburn district.

Visitors to the museum can see a curated collection of furniture, clothing, photographs, paintings, toys, memorabilia, historical artefacts, farm machinery, and much more. The Cockburn Historical Society oversees the administration and running of the Museum, supported by the City of Cockburn.

See the State Heritage Register listing for the Manning Estate, including the Azelia Ley Homestead.

Cockburn Historical Society

The Cockburn Historical Society is a non-profit volunteer organisation open to all members of the public with an interest in the history of Cockburn. The Society was formed in 1975 by a number of local residents concerned about the preservation and recording of the cultural heritage of the Town of Cockburn.
