Summary: |
The Hamilton Hill Memorial Hall was funded by the local community, wanting to commemorate the soldiers of the district who fought in the First World War. After five years of fundraising they broke ground, and one of the two foundation stones was laid by Mrs Maud Winfield, the woman who was acknowledged as the driving force behind the scheme, on 21 March 1925. |
