Summary: The Jandakot Agricultural Show was a chance for isolated settlers to come together and celebrate the produce of the district. Everyone entered their best fruits and vegetables, and expert judges awarded prizes to the most exceptional specimens. The newspaper report of the 1902 Agricultural Show noted that 'The potatoes shown consisted principally of the Beauty of Hebron class, and out of a benchful of magnificent specimens there was scarcely an unsound potato. One bugle pumpkin was over 3ft. in length, and Mr. A. Crawford, the Government Dairy Expert, who did most of the judging, pronounced a Turk's Cap Pumpkin to be the finest of the class he had seen.'
