Summary: A tiny hut along the Robb Jetty coastline built of corrugated iron, wooden fruit cases, and other bits of 'flotsam' as reported in the Sunday Times, 29 March 1953. A verandah is made from another piece of iron propped up on stakes, and a tin hangs from it possibly collecting rainwater. After WWII many people were forced into conditions such as these by rising rents, static pensions, and a housing shortage.
