Summary: The Spearwood Agricultural Hall was built in 1927, and had originally been the surgical ward at Fremantle Hospital. The Spearwood Fruit Growers and Market Gardeners Association raised funds and took out loans to relocate the building to Spearwood. Its original location was on the land now occupied by the City of Cockburn Administration building at 9 Coleville Crescent. By the 1960s it was in disrepair and was handed over to the Town of Cockburn council to be converted into a civic hall and council chambers.
